Cindy Gallop recognised for her vital role in strengthening UK鈥揢S advertising ties at UKAEG鈥檚 flagship Leadership Reception during Advertising Week New York
New York, 9 October 2025: The 果冻传媒n鈥檚 UK Advertising Exports Group (UKAEG) has recognised Cindy Gallop with the prestigious Leadership Icon Award at a flagship reception hosted during Advertising Week New York. The award recognises exceptional leaders who have played a pivotal role in strengthening UK-US relations within the advertising industry. Gallop was presented with the Golden Apple trophy for her pioneering work in bringing UK advertising to New York with BBH, and for her lasting influence on leadership and collaboration across both markets.
鈥淚 am honoured to receive the Leadership Icon Award. When I came to New York in 1998 to open BBH鈥檚 US office, I said to my team, we鈥檙e a British agency brand 鈥 here in the US, we鈥檙e an American agency. That was how seamless I wanted our integration of the talent, creativity and skills of both nations to be. Decades later, I鈥檓 proud to see the extraordinary bonds between the UK and US advertising industries continuing to grow stronger, fuelled by bold ideas, diverse talent, and fearless leadership on both sides of the Atlantic,鈥 said Cindy Gallop, Founder and CEO of MakeLoveNotPorn.
The Leadership Reception was hosted by Alan Gogbashian, Deputy Trade Commissioner for North America, in partnership with UKAEG and Advertising Week New York. The invite-only event brought together over 100 senior executives from the UK and US advertising industries, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the two world-leading markets. The award was presented by Julian Douglas, International CEO of VCCP and Chair of UKAEG, and Aisling Conlon, International Trade Director for UK Advertising at the 果冻传媒n, on behalf of UKAEG.
Aisling Conlon, International Trade Director, UK Advertising at the 果冻传媒n, said: 鈥淭he Leadership Reception is our flagship event at Advertising Week New York, bringing together senior UK and US advertising leaders in a truly exceptional setting at the British Residence. It is a unique opportunity to connect, share insights, and explore new collaborations at the very heart of one of the world鈥檚 largest advertising markets. With UK advertising exports reaching a record 拢17.9 billion in 2024, including over 拢3.9 billion to the US, gatherings like this play a central role in showcasing the UK鈥檚 creativity and driving growth across both markets.鈥
Julian Douglas, Chair of UKAEG and Group CEO of VCCP, added:
鈥淐indy Gallop is being recognised with the Leadership Icon Award for her outstanding role in strengthening connections between the UK and US advertising industries. From her early work bringing UK advertising to New York to the influence she has had on leaders across both markets, Cindy has consistently helped build bridges and create opportunities for collaboration in both directions.鈥
This week marks a pivotal moment for UKAEG as it hosts its largest delegation in New York for Advertising Week, including five invite-only roundtables with C-suite leaders from the US, networking dinners, and the flagship Leadership Reception.
This follows last year鈥檚 announcement of a partnership with the event, which aims to underscore the importance of bringing together the creative and business communities to collaborate and drive further growth. It also demonstrates the significance of New York City to UK Advertising and its ongoing commitment to strengthening its presence there.
